Bradford District Care Trust: Multi-disciplinary bank and agency solution

Bradford District Care provides high quality mental health, community and learning disability services for a diverse population of over half a million residents situated at the foothills of the Pennines. They have partnered with Retinue since 2014 to manage their challenging temporary staffing requirements.

Requirements:
Challenged with a requirement to find new CIP savings, Bradford recognised that partnering with a neutral vendor would provide the dedicated and experienced support needed to reduce agency spend.

Solution & Outcomes:
After implementing a neutral vendor managed service for Bradford and releasing 28% in cash releasing savings from existing agency spend, the Trust requested support for a managed bank. We successfully TUPE’d all workers to the managed staff bank, before growing it by 32% within a year.

100% of locums are engaged directly, and a new model of nurse bank has been created to further improve fill rates outside of agencies, whilst continuing to reduce cost for the Trust
